Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cut keys?

Yes, we do unless it is restricted.

What are restricted keys?

Restricted keys cannot be duplicated or cut unless authorised by the appropriate person. They can only be cut at the locksmith that created the system. These keys are protected by patent and stamped "do not copy" it is illegal for it to be cut elsewhere. Restricted keys are high security & pick resistant nature.

Do you fix car keys?

Yes! We have a dedicated automotive department who specialise in the cutting and programming of car keys. We recommend calling us on (08) 8981 2611 to discuss the make and model of your car and ensure we have the correct equipment and key blanks in stock to suit your vehicle.

How much does a locksmith cost?

There are lots of factors that impact the price of a locksmith. Normal Working hours callout is $132.00. The main one is if the locksmith needs to come out to you onsite and if it’s an after hours emergency call, the price varies.

Do I have to replace all of my locks if I've lost my keys?

No. A Locksmith will be able to rekey the locks to your house and if required, cut copies of the new keys. After a general discussion about the customers’ requirements a locksmith will often request the customer take some photos of their locks and text or email them so they can then ascertain what locks are in the doors prior to visiting the premises. If locks aren't broken, then they won't need to be replaced.

Can you cut the letter box key, I lost mine, but I have code on letter box?

Yes, we can cut keys to code.

Do you cover evenings and weekends?

Yes, we can help with all your lock emergencies 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

If I need an emergency locksmith, how soon can you get someone out?

We understand that in a situation where you need to call an emergency locksmith it can be very stressful, in these emergency situations we try to get out as quickly as possible, usually within an hour. We have to limit our emergency locksmith service to our immediate local areas.

Can you open or fix a lock without breaking it?

We always try to fix and open locks non-destructively as this will keep the costs down. However, on some occasions we will have to break a lock if non-destructive entry isn’t possible. We will always advise of costings before proceeding with any work.

Will the locksmith have the parts to fix my lock?

The answer is usually we do, but occasionally a door may require a specialist lock, part or lock mechanism which might not be stocked on the van. We would say 90% off the time we would be carrying all the parts required to fix / replace the lock. If we have to make a second visit to your property to finish fixing a lock, we only charge a single call out charge, no charge would apply to the 2nd visit. We only fit the best quality locks and all parts and labour are covered by a 12 months guarantee.
